A piece of advice that has stuck with me

Hello my dear readers old and new alike. It is great to see that you have once again or mayhaps for the first time stumbled upon my blog post. I think that every single one of us has received some advices or counseling during the time we have spend walking on top of this round beautiful rock floating in space. Some of these advices might have been really helpful and some outright horrendous. Today I will be talking about a motto that has proven to be pretty useful.

This sounds like a piece of advice that you would hear everyone yell all the time nonetheless it is still a great one. The advice goes like this “You don’t have to be the best just do everything that you do with 100% effort. You can implement this motto into anything you do in life. This advice has particularly helped me personally to accept the fact that although I might never be the best at anything I can atleast  be the best version of myself.

It seems that this is something important to understand in life. It is always just a competition with yourself. That is easy to forget during modern times with social media and everything. People are constantly comparing themselves to others.

While it may not always seem like it, trying your best is actually  pretty rewarding. At the end of the day it is a nice feeling go to sleep knowing that you worked hard on every aspect of your life.

Then let us take a look at my English learning goals. I have learned some new words that are helpful in the IT-field. The method I use for my learning is pretty simple. Just download an app called Anki and pick a deck from the website. Then you just choose how many words you want to learn per day and get to work.

My English speaking skills have also improved during these few weeks. I am a lot more comfortable with using English verbally than I used to be. This is mainly due the fact that we get to use English as the main tool for communication in everything we do during this ECIP-course.

If you somehow made it to the end of this post I would like to thank you for the time that you spent reading this. Let’s all keep working on improving ourselves and encouraging others. See you all next time!

  1. Nice and thought-provoking blogpost! I am definitely guilty, when it comes to comparing yourself to others. We should only aim to do our best - and when we compete against ourselves, we don't fixate on other people.
