Book review
Hello dear readers it has been quite a long time since the last post but I’am back again. Greetings to you if you have yet again found my post. As they say in the north “Winter is coming.” so it has also fallen on upon us in Oulu. Although I have to say that it has been quite a mild one. Maybe we will get more snow in the future... But enough rambling about random trivial things and let’s get to the point of todays post.
I read a few chapters from Robert C. Martins book “Clean Code”. Choosing this book was an easy task. I opened the website containing the list of the books and decided to close my eyes and pick a random one. The book itself was actually almost philosophical and I found that interesting especially with it being a book about coding.
The author used a lot of interesting quotes on his text and you could really see the enjoyment and dedication to this topic from his words. When the book progressed the topics went over the top of my head because they got more and more advanced. It was a nice glimpse into mind of somebody who is at the top level of IT-field.
The language that the author used was profound and fun to read. There were nice word plays and a whole lot of difficult words. The book was professional yet not too serious and boring. It was actually not one of those books that put you to sleep as soon as you open the first page. It was an enjoyable experience when all things are considered.
In conclusion I think this book is directed more towards people who are already more advanced on the IT-field. Nevertheless there were still some things that beginners could also understand. If you think about reading an educational book about coding this is the right one.
Lastly let’s take a quick peak at my English learning progression. I have learned a lot of new words during these few weeks. I also think that my skill of skinning and scanning information from texts has improved. Nice new habit that I picked up is sometimes speaking English with my roommate.
It has yet again come the time to end another blog post. I would like to thank all of you who made it into the end this time. We will hopefully meet again when I post next time.
Interesting review, I liked how you analyzed the book. Seems that it was a good read for you.
