Language learning tips
Hello my dear readers! Time is flying by and it is now time for the final blog post . This has been a fun journey. Learning a foreign language is also a journey. It is a journey that involves mastering grammar and vocabulary of the new language. Though learning different languages is a thing that will always pay you off in life.
A good strategy for learning a new language is immersion. Surround yourself with the foreign language in your everyday life. For example, you can watch TV-shows, listen to podcast, read books or news in that language. The effects of this strategy are maximized through consistensy. You should aim to immerse yourself in the new language everyday. You can do this with any language you are trying to learn.
Another thing you need to do is to communicate a lot with the language you are practising. Speak to other people and if possible try to talk with some native speakers. The more you practise speaking and conversing the more confident you will become in your skills.
Also you have to remember that language learning is a lifelong journey. There will always be something new to learn. Languages are constantly shaping and evolving. This means that you will probably never “perfect” any language but that is perfectly fine.
In my future work enviroment the ability to communicate fluently in English is crucial. The IT field is very international and English is usually used as the standard language of communication. Good communication is a basic building block for an comfortable and productive work community.
For the future ECIP students my most important advice is to stay consistent. Practise even a little bit everyday. The progress may not be especially fast but during longer periods of time you will see substansial improvements. Setting realistic goals is also really important. That could mean that you set a goal of learning 5 new words everyday. Achievable goals motivate and help you stay on track with your learning journey.
Thank you dear readers for the last time. It is time for me to wrap up this blogging journey. I have enjoyed writing my thoughts out loud in English. Who knows, maybe I will continue this type of writing in the future.
